Please read ...... I grew up in Amherstburg, but currently live in Colorado. Visited my parents this weekend and found online this amazing restaurant with great reviews. My mom also recommended it although never visited before. I have a 1 year old and a 5 year old therefore was excited when we walked in during the car show this weekend to find it was empty. However within 10 mins, it was full ..... ordered our food at 1, with it arriving at 150.... I will 100% admit the restaurant was understaffed ... it happens.... however, the waitress not once acknowledged it or tried to spend 30 seconds explaining that. We had to ask for extra water and drinks... not once, not twice, but three times. I watched the cook throw in my sons chicken fingers in the microwave .... for a higher end restaurant ... really? Would love to recommend this but unfortunately it didnt work out. Given it was fairly expensive for lunch ($135 for 4 adults), Id rather take my money and spend it somewhere where they care about growing their business and maintaining the clientele.
Bread is super small but they ask you if you want seconds. Blush gnocchi was extremely mediocre, honestly would prefer olive garden over this. The person I was with ordered the linguini seafood and theirs was actually good hence the 3 instead of 1 star. Service was excellent! But honestly, go somewhere else, did not find it worth the money.
I have never had a bad meal at Riccardos. The food is excellent, staff is friendly and service very good.. It is wise to make reservations to ensure you can get a table. Also, the location is excellent!
Good food great service. Enjoyed a nice dinner with my wife. This is a favourite restaurant for us.
If you're looking for a real 'summer place' to soak up atmosphere in spades, relax on a cozy patio with a gorgeous view of the lake, and eat some quality Italian food, then this is the place for you. Amherstburg's bistros and eateries are generally a cut above the rest, but even for this small and inviting town, Riccardo's is one of the best places to spend an afternoon with friends and family. Word to the wise: make a reservation. This place is generally packed and for good reason. Superior food, service and great staff. Rick and Jackie will look after you. Just go and be very glad that you did!
